Spiritual Direction
A holy space for listening to God

Stand at the crossroads and look,
Jeremiah 6:16
and ask for the ancient paths,
where the good way lies; and walk in it,
and find rest for your souls.”
How is it with your soul, and who have you trusted with knowing your sacred story?
What is Spiritual Direction?
“In spiritual direction, one person is being present to another for the sake of being attentive to the voice of God..”
Susan Currie
Christian Spiritual Direction is a practice whereby one person (spiritual director) creates hospitable space for another (directee) to pay attention to God, to notice God’s presence, voice, and activity in his or her life, and to respond to God in prayer. Spiritual direction focuses on one’s life with God rather than addressing problems to be fixed, wounds to be healed, or goals to be accomplished. It is about listening together to the Holy Spirit, whom Jesus said we would know because the Father would send the Spirit of truth to be with us forever and abide in us, teaching us all things (John 14:16-17, 26), rather than a directee seeking a spiritual director’s counsel or insights.
Spiritual direction takes place in a confidential atmosphere of loving trust in God, believing that he is for us, not against us, and is transforming us into Christ’s image through the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, so that we might live fully and bear fruit to the Father’s glory.
Spiritual direction typically occurs once a month to cultivate healthy rhythms of awareness and attentiveness to your life with God. A session is 50 minutes. Sessions can take place in person, by phone, or online. Click below to reach out to us to learn more or request an appointment
“So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in Him.”
1 John 4:16
